i don’t know who posted the reply to that ask we got
but the truth is we are INSANELY busy with personal lives - i’m currently balancing a 9 hour a day job with writing and photographing for a music blog 24/7, PLUS photographing various other events (currently i can be found at leakycon london, so if you have any questions please feel free to come and ask me or hannah if you’re there!)
it isn’t pleasant coming online to 120+ anonymous hate messages; this is the opposite of what we wanted to happen.
just bear with us, we know it’s slow going at the minute but things ARE happening.
Anonymous asked : How can Dashcon in the USA get everything together, but you guys cant even post at least once a day? Why cant I be in the USA?
hey man no need to be rude
we all have lives, we are actually human beings. we have work commitments and university commitments and one of us has a small child in the house that they have to look after. i’m sorry but personal circumstances come first. we regret that tumbl-con has taken a back seat at the moment but you all have to understand that we have other things we need to deal with. we want to get this up and running again soon but in the meantime please just be patient with us.
Anonymous asked : Not to sound rude or anything but it doesn't seem like you're organized at all. I'm really looking forward to coming to this but I'm not sure I should or will be able too since it looks like nothing is happening!
Well, unfortunately, you have come across as very rude. You clearly do not understand how much hard work and effort goes into organising an event of this calibre, so let me break it down for you:
Something of this nature requires a venue with a capacity for the amount of people we expect to attend, corporate sponsorship so that we may actually fund the event, marketing and advertising so that people actually know about the event, a ticket platform for purchasing passes to the event, contacting various management companies in order to source guests for the event, as well as consumer research in order to help us figure out the kind of programming that we could provide in the schedule for the event. Amongst these things are many other that aren’t a necessity, but that we choose to try and provide such as trying to find hotel deals that we could offer guests. Now, try combining all of those things and finding a date(s) to suit everyone. As you can probably tell, not all of this can happen instantaneously. Try mixing this with the fact that all 4 of us admins have to balance education and our jobs with organising the con. Sometimes other things have to take priority, and sometimes things are out of our control such as waiting for people to contact us back about certain things. I just think you need to be aware of how much work is involved with this, as well as the work in other aspects of our lives. Just because we’re not posting things on here does not mean that we are “unorganised” and that nothing is happening, it just means that there is nothing to inform people of as of yet as certain things are still in the works.
We are happy that you are looking forward to the con, however, the point of it is to bring people together through their mutual love of tumblr to help them meet friends in an environment that they feel comfortable and happy in, surrounded by like-minded people. We don’t encourage grey-faced nastiness in our project, so next time please do not hide behind this as an excuse to send rude comments to us. Thank you :)
hey guys! a quick update re the tumbl-con pre-party tomorrow.
the wonderful fauxgingerwithasoul has agreed to act as admin for the day, so if you have any questions/comments/suggestions feel free to direct them to her and she can relay them back to us and we’ll try and have a quick google hang out to answer them or we’ll make a Q&A post tomorrow evening/sunday :)
thank you so much for sticking with us despite these rocky patches, it means the world to us and we hope those of you still attending tomorrow have an absolute blast! take lots of photos for us!

hi guys! sorry we’ve been so absent lately, real life is being it’s usual pesky self and keeps getting in the way. i myself have only just got my life back into shape now i have a new full time job and it’s taken a while to get into a solid routine, but now i know what’s going on and i have a pretty solid rota i can manage my time much more effectively!
i just want to say we’re SO sorry we can’t make it to the pre-party; we were all super excited but finances and work etc have sadly gotten in the way. it IS however still going on, this saturday in manchester. so those of you who are still going, or were unsure, DO IT. we’re aware this is super last minute but we’re looking to appoint a couple of you guys as honorary admins for the day.
i’m currently working my way through the asks sat in our inbox, so feel free to send any questions you might have or volunteer yourselves to be an admin for the day! :)
solitarylikeme asked : So you probably have been asked this 100 times but just in case, have you got another date for the pre-party? If not, will it definitely still be on a weekend? Or better still, still on a Saturday?
We don’t have a date yet, but it will most likely be on a weekend as it is easiest for all of us
Anonymous asked : At the pre party, I know you guys won't be there but I was just wondering, how will we know who's there for the meetup and who's not? is there going to be any indication that we're there for tumbl-con meetup and not just hanging out?
We’re in the talks of appointing some temporary admins for the day, we’ll try and find a way of indicating who those people are so that everyone knows when they get there :)
